Need solution for Prevent DC Voltage shock 5848 1
Started by Ankit Mann
We have 120 V DC 4000A POD, which are connected with Platform with the insulator, over the period of time, insulator becomes weak to hold the charge, then the platform will get the effect by shock. to prevent the shock, we need the alarm after a certain threshold. we have only two floating wire with no Ref. Regards Ankit Mann

Is Anyone using a home energy monitoring system? 3948 3
Started by Joe Clark
Hello, I am doing a fairly large project with all new hvac as well as building a home theater and my energy consumption has always been through the roof. I average 2,000 KWH a month already and my new additions may cause it to increase. I had an electrician laying out wires tell me I have some type of electrical problem, because 2,000 KWH is way too much for what I am using. He said I should install an electrical monitoring system to figure out where the power is going. I have see a bunch ...

Circuit for Measuring RMS Current Value using CR3110 3536 0
Started by Daniel Blair
I am currently using the precision rectifier circuit found in the 'Precision Rectifier Circuit for CT Signal Conditioning' app note. I am using this in my application to monitor motor current using a CR3110-3000 current transformer across a 7.5 ohm burden resistor. I now need to monitor current to non-linear loads (e.g., from a VFD) and hence need to get a true RMS value. Is there a similar circuit recommendation for non linear applications that allows me to still use the same CT

I like to install 2 CR5220 -(up to 30ADC first and up to 10ADC second)- on one DIN rail. Is there has to be some recommended distance between transducers to avoid any interference Thank you.

Measuring AC Voltage with CR4850-500 4135 1
Started by Kristin Chew
Hi, I would like to ask more advise on how to verify the output of the Voltage Transducer CR4850-500 The datasheet stated that the DC output is proportional to the AC voltage input. My question is: 1. The output from pin 7-9 (L1-N, L2-N, L3-N) is in DC or AC 2. The output value is giving out 0-5 VDC after measuring the input VAC So, for example if my max voltage is 240 VAC, the transducer will output 5VDC Is there any graph showing the linearity of the input and output voltages ...

DC Current Direction Through CT 5254 2
Started by Joseph Hafich
Building a few panels using your CR5220 to measure DC current from a battery charger to the battery positive terminal, and then output a 4-20 ma reference for metering. I could power up and test to determine, but thought I might ask. Wire from the battery charger through () on the window then to the battery Current will generally flow from the charger to the battery (hopefully). Thanks

DC Immune 3918 1
Started by Randy Smith
I've got a DC load design that I'm adding an AC voltage to. The AC doesn't cross zero so I have to add a DC offset. I need to measure total current and the CT I'm using just isn't delivering the correct AC value. I'm convinced the DC component of the signal is skewing the RMS value somehow. I see that CR makes CTs that are DC immune which is exactly what I need. Question is, in a nutshell how does that work Does the CT simply ignore the DC component somehow Thank you, Randy

measure of differential current 4967 1
Started by martino bonacossa
Hello, I have a question I'd like to submit. I'm trying to achieve a measure of differential current. I'm using a CR8348-2000 in which I inserted into the hole in both phases (phase and neutral). As the load resistance across the CR will use a 90.9k, then enter a LTC1967 and from there into a PIC. The scheme is in fact the one in the LTC1967 data sheet (http://cds.linear.com/docs/en/datasheet/1967f.pdf) on page 26. The problem is the response time. thanks for your cooperation and sorry for ...

CR5210-50 4588 1
Started by Robert Batta
Hi, I have a CR5210-50 that I am using to measure DC load on a 12v distribution panel. I've wired the CT as drawn in the instruction, supplied 24vdc power, but the readings I am getting do not match the measured load: The amp readings below were taken is a separate amp meter and compared it to the voltage output on the CT: 2.86A - 2.35volts 9.9A - 2.08volts 11.4A - 201volts 12.9A - 1.96volts 13.8A - 1.03volts I feel like I'm missing something obvious.

Isolated AC Voltage and current Measurement 4701 1
Started by David Wilson
I am looking for a good way to create an isolated voltage and current measurement signal conditioner for a 120Vac 60Hz, 20A test. The inputs to my data acquisition system are /-10V. I need to measure voltage with 1/2 accuracy, current (2-3 accuracy is acceptable), total harmonic distortion, power factor, etc. Are there some recommended transformers for this application

Hi-Freq Lamp Ballast Current Monitoring 4725 1
Started by Basel Z
Hello, I have an application where I want to monitor the current from the output of a lamp ballast. The Ballast specs: * Output is a sine-wave (mostly sine-wave, but gets a bit distorted at higher output power) * Vout = 200-400V (peak at 1600V during ignition <250ms) * Iout = 3-10A (12A max) * Freq = 40-200kHz I believe the CR8448-2000-F is my best choose. I have a rectifying op-amp circuit to receive the output of the CT and I'm thinking of using a burd...

I would like to monitor the AC entrance to my Barn. I have been using a product from Ubiquiti Called MFI to monitor current on a few AC motors, among other things. The Mport they sell requires a 0 to 2 volt DC input from a sensor. The sensor they have now is 100A rated and not large enough to clamp over the 400 A entrance cables. Looking for any recommendations of products found here. It's 2 lines . I would also like to have a more sensitive clamp for the neutr...
