CR9580 - Signal Out (Volts) 2564 1
Started by Will Charlton
On the datasheet for the CR9580-&91;10,20,50&93; Current Sensor, there are two values for the Voltage on the Signal Out. - Signal Out: 0 -5 VDC - Max. Signal Out: 12VDC Is the maximum 5 or 12 V I understand that we're talking about RMS values, but I'd like to understand under which conditions would I see a 12VDC value on the output of this device. CR9321-NPN current switch issue 2684 1
Started by Jonathan Barry
Hi, I have a monitoring system on my home that uses the CR9321-NPN current switch to let me know how much energy I am using in a number of areas. In this case my hot water tank is reading as if the current is constantly on (when I know it isn't). Please see the website here for my home system and the hot water tank reading at 3.5kW constant. http://welserver.com/WEL0304/ In this system I am using a monitoring device called a WEL (Web Energy Logger). It is a great little device and ...

CR5210-2 overcurrent questions 5646 3
Started by first last
Greetings, I have two small servo motors that I’m attempting to monitor current draw at the operators station with inexpensive panel meters. The average current draw is around 400mA with peaks in the 1.25A region, but in an overload/binding situation, the motor/drive briefly spike to approx 8A before faulting out, destroying the ammeter(s). Will the CR5210-2 tolerate overcurrent conditions with no ill effects to the transducer, and/or whatever is connected to the transducers output ...

CR3110 with 5ADC to 75ADC 2763 1
Started by Bret Beringer
I need to be able to detect the presence (not level) of DC current over a range of 5A to 75A with surges of up to 300A. I am having trouble finding a burden resistor that will allow enough voltage to detect the low range and stay under the Vmax rating of the part. The max is an RMS value, so how does this play in for DC Any other suggestions are welcome.

Hello CR Magnetics. We're looking for the input impedance values for the CR4580-250 AC voltage and CR5320-600 DC voltage sensors. The purpose is to determine how much voltage loss we expect in certain lengths of input sensor wire. Thanks very much, Michael, Kingston Ontario, Can.

I would like to use multiple external current transformers all looping through the 4395. My question is this: if the relay is rated 1-10 amps, and multiple motors are running through multiple external current transformers add to more than 10 amps, how will this effect the 4395 Thanks.

CR4395 - Wound rotor motor plugging relay 2259 3
Started by Sylvain Raymond
We would like to use a CR4395 to limit plugging torque on a wound rotor motor. During plugging (commanding the opposing rotating direction) the output relay would drop on overcurent, preventing the secondary accelerating resistors from being shorted (and limiting the counter torque at the motor). The frequency at the rotor varies from very low frequency at nominal speed to 120Hz at start of plugging. Plugging inhibit is removed as the motor passes through zero speed and the rotor current freq...

Nuisance trip with CR4395 2453 1
Started by jyothish rk
Hi, We are facing problem using CR4395.The problem is with the tripping time. The part no of the current sensing relay that we are using is CR4395-LH-120-110-B-CD-ELR-I. The tripping time that we set is usually around 3 or 4 seconds, but due to motor inrush current the relay trips immediately. Our doubt now is, whether the tripping time dial, provided in the model is for setting the inhibit time or the delay for the relay to actuate in case of fault or is common for both. Or is it that, we ar...

Help in choosing current switch 2343 1

I have attached a diagram showing the application of a Magnacraft brand of current sensing relay. Motor data: Full load current 9.9 amps, No load (no water) current 1.8 amps. Start current 37 amps. The Magnicraft uses a shunt for sensing and is prone to failure. What product ...

Question on CR6260-500-5 Output Range 2056 1
Started by Kalam Puckett
We purchased the CR6260-500-5 to monitor the power of a 230V/3Ph motor with a power factor of 74. I'm trying to determine the range of the 4-20ma output of the transducer. I'm making the assumption that 4ma (zero) is wattage at 0vac/0amps and 20ma (span) is wattage at 500vac/5amps. Then I'm thinking that the power factor would be applied in our DCS. Am I on the right track or totally off Thank you in advance. Kalam Puckett Xcel Energy

current sensing relay 2234 5

Hello, I am trying to come up with a system that can sense current lose in heaters. I was thinking that a current sensing relay would be ideal...using the relay to turn on LED lights to inform operators of a heater lose and thereby possibly saving a run...this application would be on an autoclave, I'm just concerned that the heaters basically turn on and off to maintain temperature during process an that this would cause false alarms, also the autoclaves themselves do not run 24hrs a day...how w...

CR6240-500-50 question 2175 1
Started by Tim Yau
Hi, I'm trying to add a CR6240-500-50 inside an Allen Bradley MCC bucket. Due to space constraint, the transducer is mounted after the overload relay. Should I feed pin 1, 2, and 3 of the transducer with 3-phase 480VAC after the overload relay (see Option1) or after the circuit breaker (see Option2) My concern is if the starter is off, would the transducer still be generating the 4mA output I'm not sure if the transducer needs the 480VAC to generate its 4-20mA output or if it's sole...
