I am looking at this current relay in the DC version to be used in a circuit to sense the current going to a 1/8hp 90 VDC permenant magnet motor. The current will be 2 amps or less and need to energize a panel lamp when the motor is running along with a future interlock to shut the system doen on a motor interruption. Will the CR 5395 do this?

Dear Sir, Lowest range unit is 1 to 10 Amps. You can lower that range by wrapping multiple turns. The relay is available with the necessary logic and latching feature to implement any control scheme. The CR5395 should be a good choice.

Tony; So the current value can be lowered by wrapping the read motor lead thru the transducer an extra wrap or so?

Dear Sir, I look at it the opposite way. By wrapping the wire thru the CT you are increasing the current being sensed and scale accordingly. I have attached an application guide for your review. This shows how the process works.
