After the fact, I realized that I bought the wrong transformer, a CR2RL-500, which is intended to drive a 0-5A ammeter. I had intended to use it with a 10 ohm burden resister, expecting to get 50V for a 50 A current. I have an 11.1 ohm burden resistor, and with a 60W light bulb load (confirmed with a plug in power meter), I get 100mV P-P. I calculate that to be 6 mA RMS through the 11.1 ohm burden, not the expected 50 mA. Is this the result of having too high burden resistance?
